08 Oct / 05:42 / Camp II / −2 °C

Blue hour at camp.

The eastern ridge arrived as a charcoal cutout. Meltwater had frozen in the cook pot and the tent seams held a thin line of silver.

At 06:10 the cloud floor dropped below the basin. We packed the ridge kit without speaking, then stopped when the barometer crossed the hold threshold. The orange marker poles continued north without us.

The decision felt too conservative until the wind reached camp forty minutes later. Snow moved horizontally across the instrument mast and erased yesterday's boot track between the tents.
