A pot that keeps dripping
Leif ·
Rain is open on TestNet. It is not a release, and it is not the Discord reserve rain.
The idea is a pot that pays the people who showed up, on a schedule, without handing the whole pot over. You fill it once. You say how much should leave each interval, and who is allowed in. A keeper calls it when the interval is due. What falls is the drip. The pot is still there afterwards, so the same rain can fall again for as long as someone keeps filling it.
One app is a hub. It holds many rains. Opening one does not ask our permission. The gate can be any NFT collection. The prize can be ALGO or any ASA. CorvidLabs uses that hub the same way anyone else does.
What it is not
The contract is unaudited. It is also immutable: a deployed hub has no update and no delete, so nobody can patch it, including us. That is a guarantee and a hazard in the same sentence. If a hub is wrong, the remedy is a new hub that everyone enters by hand. Put nothing on it you would mind losing.
It does not run itself. Arcron is what wakes it: a keeper earns a fee by making the call on time. There is no MainNet date.
Open Rain. The roadmap lists it as in development, because a TestNet app you can try is not a ship date.
