Photos
Shrink and split by default. Your Pinata JWT sends a photo as one locked file.
Without extra setup, a photo is shrunk on your device and split across many network fees. The chat still encrypts it. CorvidLabs does not pin files for you. We will not host a paid pin, because we could not moderate files we cannot read.
One fee with your Pinata JWT
Add your own Pinata JWT in Settings, under Photos. Raven locks the file on this device, stores only the locked bytes with Pinata, and the chat sends one message that points at that file. Not an NFT. Recipients do not need a Pinata account. They fetch through a public Pinata gateway and unlock the photo on their device.
What to paste
- Open Pinata, then API Keys, and create a key with pinning permission.
- Copy the JWT. It is a long token that starts with eyJ. Do not paste the API Key or API Secret from that same page.
- In Raven Settings, paste the JWT and Save. Leave the upload address as Pinata's API. You do not need your own gateway.
Raven checks the JWT with Pinata before keeping it. If Pinata rejects it, your message and ALGO stay in the composer and nothing is sent on the network.
What you are responsible for
You are responsible for what you upload with your Pinata account. Pinata sees only locked bytes, not the photo. Recipients who can decrypt the chat can see the photo.
